I Was Warned About Felting with White Fibers...

It had be awhile since my last felted crochet teddy and I felt the urge to create one. I love white but had avoided it in the past because I had heard the white fibers did not felt well. I don't know for certain but I think it has something to do with bleaching or the process the fibers have to go through to be made white. Well, here is what I came up with.
Believe it or not, this guy was put through quite a vigorous felting process, but I was never able to achieve the nice tightness between the stitches that I had with my other felted teddies. And, there is just something not "right" about his shape, as if the fibers felted at such different rates that I was left with a bit of distortion.

Don't tell the teddy bear any of this though.  He thinks he is quite cute. And he will be happy to live with us forever!

Have I learned my lesson about using white in my felted projects. I guess time will tell, but, I do love that color...

  1. BREAKING NEWS!!! I saw this bear today! He was riding shot-gun in a white van. The van had ladders on top and looked like it was being used for repair work (of some sort). I saw the bear commiserating with the driver. I think the job they were working on, went bad. The bear was shrugging his shoulders as if to say "it wasn't my fault". It would appear that his start (out-of-the-gate) is a rough one. More updates later!
