Part of the ABQ BioPark in Albuquerque and containing 36 acres of gardens and conservatories, the Albuquerque Botanic Garden is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon.
There are over 1 and 1/2 miles of paths which include the Butterfly Pavilion, Sasebo Japanese Garden,
Rio Grande Heritage Farm and other lovely sights.
During the summer the garden is open until 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays and for the $7 admission you can visit both the Botanic Garden and the Aquarium. Also in summer on Thursday evenings, you can attend Summer Nights musical concerts. In the fall there is a Harvest Festival and the Holiday season brings the River of Lights (please check ticket prices). Food and gifts are available in the garden.
The Botanic Garden and Aquarium is located at 2601 Central Av. N.W.
"We should understand well that all things are the work of the Great Spirit. We should know the Great Spirit is within all things: the trees, the grasses, the rivers, the mountains and the four legged and winged peoples; and even more important, we should understand that the Great Spirit is also above all these things and peoples. When we do understand all this deeply in our hearts, then we will fear and love and know the Great Spirit, and then we will act and live as the Spirit intends" ~ Black Elk
