Dog Friendly Dining in Albuquerque

And we will focus on places with a "full" menu, where you can get a meal.  Here's my list. There may be others but these are the ones we have been to. All allow leashed, polite pups to dine on the patio only so these are "seasonal."
Chama Brewing Company
4939 Pan American Freeway
Albuquerque, NM 87109

Open 'til 11 M-Th & midnight on Friday
The manager told us they allow pups on weekdays. Small comfortable patio. The wait-staff brings water for pups.
They have several beers with names like "3 Dog Night" & "Sleeping Dog Stout"
Entrees range from about $8.75 to $25
When I visited I had a fondue featuring fruits and veggies that I enjoyed. (I think it was in the starters/appetizer section).

Bella at Church Street Cafe-back patio
Church Street Cafe
2111 Church St. NW
Albuquerque, NM 87104 (in historic Old Town)
Open 'til 9 except for Sundays when the are open 'til 4
The front patio is open all year and if you can stand the temperatures you can dine on the front patio pretty much all year. The beautiful back patio is open in the warmer months.
Entrees top at about $14.95 but breakfast is much less.
The queso is good and served over a flame. I've enjoyed all the entrees I've tried (certainly not the whole menu yet) and there is something for everyone who likes Mexican food, but what I really like is the atmosphere. Not only is it in historic Old Town but the cafe itself was built originally as a residence sometime in the 1700's and is rumored to be haunted!

Kelly's Brew Pub
3222 Central Ave. SE
Albuquerque, NM 87106

Open 'til they close
The large patio has heaters that are in use in the colder months unless it's just yucky outside.  Wait-staff will bring water and sometimes a cookie!
Entrees range from about $9.95 to $12.95
The beer menu here is extensive.  I love the fries and the Creamy Green Chile Chicken Soup is a must have! And it is one of the best places to people watch in the city.

O'Neils Pub (Uptown)
3301 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE
Albuquerque, NM 87111

Open 'til 2 M-Sat & 'til midnight on Sunday
The patio is open during the warmer months and has heaters as well as a central fire pit.
Entrees range from about $8.95 to $12.95
They have everything from fried pickles to Traditional Celtic favorites on the menu here.
The Nob Hill location also allows pups on the patio
4310 Central SE
Albuquerque, NM 87108

Bella at Pete's-unfortunately, as of May 1st, Pups are no longer welcome!

Red Rock Cafe & Greek Bistro
308 San Felipe St. NE
Albuquerque, NM  87104 (another one in historic old town)
Open 'til ? (we've been here "daytime")
There is a front and back patio where dogs are welcome. In back you can be hidden away and in front you can people watch.
Entrees $7.95 to $ 9.95
Great cold stuffed grape leaves!

Whole Hog Cafe
9880 Montgomery, N.E.
Albuquerque , NM, 87111

Open ' til 8 Sun-Tue & 'til 9 Wed-Sat
Patio is non-heated so it's open the warmer months. Near Long Leash On Life if you are in the mood to shop before or after and for dessert for you canine companion, there is 3 Dog Bakery across the street.
Entrees were reasonable.  Two can eat for about $20 if you don't get alcohol.
This is barbecue and there is the usual types of meat to choose from. They make a mean potato salad. (they use sour cream).

If anyone knows of any other restaurants in New Mexico, and especially Albuquerque, that would love to have Bella as a patron, please let me know! We love to eat! ;)

  1. And here is a wonderful spot for dining in Taos
Please visit the post above to read about La Cueva Cafe & their yummy Mexican food!

  2. Grill Caliente at 2800 Sudderth Dr. in Ruidoso, NM was delicious! We ate there twice on our recent overnight trip. Chicken Pablano was my favorite and the mashed potatoes on the dinner menu are yummy.
